Volunteers
South Vancouver Neighbourhood House welcomes, values and relies heavily on volunteers. SVNH offers a variety of programs and activities for volunteers to participate in and encourage volunteers to explore the various programs and activities before making any formal commitments. Some of the programs and activities we offer to the local community include:
Child and Youth Programs . . .
- Homework Havens
- Cultural Buddy Programs
- Out of School Care
- Girls Groups
- Friday Night Youth Group
- Special Events
Family and Adult Program & Services . . .

- Special Events
- Family Drop In
Persons wishing to volunteers will meet with staff to determine the needs, interests, time commitments, responsibilities and expectations that are involved with each program to ensure a proper fit between volunteers and programs is made. Once a decision is made volunteers are required to complete the following applications:
- Criminal Record Check
- Volunteer Application
- SVNH Membership
*Criminal Record Checks are free for Secondary Students
Volunteers are provided with an initial orientation, training and on going support and direct supervision from program supervisors.
