SVNH is planning to open Salmonberry Child Care Centre in early 2022, which will include quality licensed programs for children 18 months to 5 years old. The starting date is tentative and may change.
Salmonberry Child Care Centre is located at Fraser Street and Marine Drive in our new SVNH Southside Hub location.
How Our Waitlist Works
Our waitlist is not based on “first come, first served” basis.
Priority for spaces is given to those families who we serve in the Sunset neighbourhood and to those that we can offer long-term service to, in the following order.
Children currently enrolled and switching between programs at Salmonberry Childcare Centre (i.e., toddler moving to 3-5 program)
Children with sibling enrolled in Salmonberry Childcare Centre.
Families living or working in Sunset (Ontario Street to Knight Street & 41st Ave to the Fraser River)
Families living or working in Vancouver
To support children in the Toddler Program to move to the 3 to 5 Program, we also maintain a balance of children's ages. This may impact the priority in which spaces are offered.
To be eligible for a space, all children must meet theses age requirements:
Toddler Program: Children must be at least 18 months old by start date.
3 to 5 Program: Children must be at least 30 months old by start date.
Note: If your child does not meet this age requirement, they will be placed on the waitlist for future spaces.
